Why Our Guests are Booking Mid-Week

Hero Image

Weekends at the Point are for the energy; a social hum of full surf clubs, busy lineups, and a coastline in full swing. But stay a little longer, or arrive as the Sunday crowds drift away, and the pace shifts. Kirra’s horizon feels a little wider, the queues shrink, and the coastal lifestyle becomes something you actually inhabit, rather than just visit.

As we move into Stage 2 of our precinct, some of our residences face the neighboring build. For guests who spend their days exploring the coast, these apartments offer the lowest price point across our calendar with full transparency. Construction is strictly limited to daytime hours, leaving your mornings and evenings exactly as they should be: quiet and coastal.

The drive into Kirra is quieter mid-week, and the usual search for a beach park along Marine Parade is almost non-existent—thanks to our secure underground parking.

Once you’ve settled in, you might take the short stroll into Coolangatta to stock the kitchen with something fresh from the markets at The Strand, or head straight across the road for a first swim. Dinner follows a similar lead. With local Kirra Beach restaurants moving at a more relaxed speed, you can often wander in without a plan, grab a table at the Kirra Beach Hotel, and watch the light fade over the water.

This is the day you stop “visiting” and start living like a local. Mid-week in Kirra Beach the coast belongs to the community neighbourhood, and for a few days, you get to be part of it.

Morning: Coffee and Coastal Paths
Wake up to the sun hitting the balcony and the sound of the surf rolling through Kirra Point. Downstairs, the cafes run at a different speed. Even if you aren’t paddling out, this is when the neighbourhood shows off its genuine charm.

Grab a coffee from Made or Black Dingo and follow the Oceanway north towards Bilinga for a quieter stretch of sand. Alternatively, head south toward the headland, past the heritage wooden shelter sheds, to where the iconic breaks of Snapper and Greenmount come into view.

Midday: Wellness and Activity

With the crowds thinned out, the middle of the day is yours. Some lean into the slower side of the coast, booking a treatment at a local spa or joining a beachfront yoga session along the Wellness Bend. Others take the chance to get in the water while it's quiet. Mid-week is the best time for a surf lesson with more space on the waves, or a snorkel around the calm side of the Groyne. Lunch is a casual affair; perhaps a long table by the water or something simple taken back to the balcony.

Afternoon: Between the Pool and the Pacific

The afternoon is about flexibility. Spend an hour on the pool deck, then head down to the sand for a late swim as the light softens. Because your residence is designed for real life, with a full kitchen and space to spread out, the day is not a logistical mission. It is just a steady back-and-forth between the balcony and the beach.

By your third day, the routine has set in. You might explore the rock pools at Greenmount, take a slow bike ride along the coastline, or head just beyond Kirra to see what is happening in the local surf and event scene. If you are looking for a change of scene, a short trip to Tugun or Currumbin is easy when the coastal roads are quiet. A mid-week stay allows for a slow pack-up and one last swim before you head off on your final morning.

This is the perfect time to make use of our guest bike hire. We are pleased to offer bike hire at our reception, making it effortless to explore the coastline on two wheels. Cruise south to Point Danger or head north through the flat, scenic paths of Bilinga and Tugun.
